besides when i was in school or had a pastry job, i didn't get to bake much in orlando. living alone and not going to a lot of parties, there was never anybody to share my desserts with. last week when we were all going to my grandmas for dinner, i asked if i could bake something. it was the day before valentines day so i decided to do red velvet whoopie pies. i didn't have to correct tools at my parent's house (piping bags and tips), so those weren't my best ones. my mom then asked if i would make them again for her friends at their weekly mahjong games (jewish ladies are so cute). this time i had found a coupler and used that to replace a normal tip i would use to pipe them. i used this recipe for both the pies and icing.

i wanted to do more hearts but i didn't know how they were going to turn out after baking them, they definitely came out a lot better than i thought.
